We got her as a 12 week old kitten and lost her at 15nto kidney failure and intestinal disease. If I could figure out how to post pics I would but trust me when i tell you she was impossibly cute and very loving. We will miss her terribly.

Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you -
I loved you so -
'twas Heaven here with you

(12,480 posts)Your sweet one is in Lady Basts arms until you both meet again.
I have found each cat makes a cat shaped place in your heart that only they can fit into. That way you never forget each kitty loves you.

(23,741 posts)I cant begin to imagine the emptiness and sadness you and your family are feeling. My sweet girl came into my life at 4 months. An abandoned baby. She too is now 15 yo. I cherish each day I have with her, whether its 1 more year or 5 years.
I know she gave you many years of love and you gave her a wonderful life. Peace to you all and keep the wonderful memories in your heart.💕

(998 posts)Even though I am a dog person I have a soft spot for kitties. So hard when a beloved pet crosses Rainbow Bridge. Sounds like Boo lived a good long life with humans who loved her dearly.

(115,836 posts)"We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle; easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we would still live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan. Another cat? Perhaps. For love there is also a season; its seeds must be resown. But a family cat is not replaceable like a worn-out coat or a set of tires. Each new kitten becomes its own cat, and none is repeated. I am four cats old, measuring out my life in friends that have succeeded but not replaced one another." -Irving Townsend

(219 posts)My best buddy Mr. Moe an American tabby, passed last February. Pets are just as much a part of us as any human family, maybe more so as they give us their unconditional love. I hope the spirit of your kitty Boo and my Mr. Moe will meet and have fun together for always. Tears are streaming down my cheek as I write this for your loss.

(1,336 posts)Been through it a few times, the price we pay for loving our furry friends. My Burmese Toffee is almost 18 -- he's skinny and doesn't really walk with his tail in the air anymore, but still eating, drinking, peeing and pooping., and jumping up on the counter (!). But he meows very loudly, very often, and I think he's suffering a bit of dementia. But I love him to bits and am hoping that when his time comes, it's not preceded by too much suffering. It's all that any of us desires, and fortunately, with our pets/best friends, we can ensure it.
My sympathies to you.

(205,965 posts)I've been there, too, and losing them leaves such a void in your life. People come and go, but our pets are always there. I know so well how you're feeling now, so many of us here on DU share your love of our pets. But the one thing that might bring you some comfort - Boo was so very fortunate that she had you.
