The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsOur supermarket dropped the requirement for a mask but I still wear one and not for health reasons..
I don't have to put any make up on my old, wrinkly face! I just have to touch the gray out of my eyebrows and I'm good to go.
So I'm gonna play this one out for as long as I can...

That is something I dont enjoy watching myself do for myself, and certainly something I would NEVER do in public. Eewww!

(5,707 posts)just that purpose. Easy peasy chin fuzz/hairs gone in a moment. So much easier than tweezing.

(172,746 posts)I have an old, wrinkly face, and never wore make-up.
I wear the mask still, especially around more than 3 people. I trust me, don't know who to trust otherwise.

(1,316 posts)It seems to me that people who didn't want to wear masks are probably the same people who don't want to get the vaccine. I have no faith in an 'honor system' for people who are not vaccinated to wear masks.

(64 posts)I put on a mask at Costco recently, just so nobody mistook me for a Republican. As a white male of a certain age, its not an uncommon mix-up.

(255,085 posts)No longer have to wear masks to enter. Well, I don't know who's vaccinated or is just a maskhole, so I still wear mine - and I'm afraid I'll be mistaken for an anti-vaxxer.

(6,912 posts)Very high vaccination rate. The few people who have been anti-vax are vocal and have been kicked out of many stores in my area. Vaxxed people i know are ALL continuing to mask bc of the jerks we KNOW haven't been vaxxed but won't mask now that there is no mandate. To recap, in my area the unvaxxed are not masking and the vaxxed are...

(255,085 posts)Last I looked, only 56% of my county has been vaccinated which is really unacceptable since there are so many vaccine sites now, pharmacies, pharmacies in grocery stores, and both a county and a state vaccine site, many of which now take walk-ins. I got mine at CVS back in February and March, had to drive to the closest one offering appointments which was about a half hour south of where I live. I didn't mind in the least, I was just grateful to finally get it. My friend who teaches had to drive across the entire state!

(6,347 posts)My sense of smell has blossomed in the past year and a half. This can be a mixed blessing, of course, but always better to have improved senses than debilitated ones. I can't imagine any other reason than wearing a mask every minute I've been outside my apartment.
I'ma keep wearin' it.
