Of course, I only have 28 miles on it, so I may not have all the answers.
But it sure is fun.

How much did it cost?
What model?
Speed and range?
How hard is it to pedal w/o motor?

Just Under $2000.

It's supposed to go 28 mph - I've only gone up to 26 so far - 55+ miles on a charge.
It's not hard to peddle at all.

(39,155 posts)bike and walking trails. You say it will go 28 MPH that would be awfully damn fast for a peddle bike. A couple years ago I heard of them doing 20 MPH now 28 MPH. You know someone will want one that goes 35, 40, 50 now. Eventually they will have to have their speed limited or stay off trails. I understand they are great for someone that is handicapped and can't ride a regular bike but people will carry things to extremes they always do.
The first ebike I saw was in Amish country in Ohio. Most all the Amish have them now.

(14,814 posts)Mine's a commuter model though, but I'm sure there are off-road types that do go much faster.

(39,155 posts)a big problem is the people that think they are Lance Armstrong. They will come up on you 20 MPH without any signal or saying they are passing. I saw one last year go right between two women pushing baby carriages without calling out.

(14,814 posts)I had a nice mountain bike, but it got to where the only place I rode it was to the tennis courts a little over a half mile away, and even that was uphill for a couple blocks coming back home. Now the hills aren't so much of a bother.
