You retired cats, how many annual miles are you now driving with the opening up

of everything but assume you are still driving less than before Covid and what are you telling your car insurance company because the lower miles annually driven means lower premiums, by the way.

(cats as in folk, I am an old musician and I like to talk that way when I can)

Sams and Walmart and sprouts all delivered to my car so I shopped more often.

I live behind my office, can get what I need online, so I drive very little. No real change.

We personally can’t drive on Thursdays or Sundays. Different days for different plate numbers.

We are fine tho.

I probably should have called them when I started working at home, but I didn't. But now that I was forced into retirement, I did call them and got lower rates, and just today saw a refund deposited into my bank.

My first few years of retirement, I did a lot of traveling.

More recently, I have settled into more of a homebody.

Last long road trip I took, I rented a new car, just for fun. Things sure have changed since my 15 year old pick-up came out. I was still discovering new features on the rental even at the end of my trip.

Prior to the pandemic I logged a lot of miles in the business van and box trucks and not so much in my car. The music gigs went away during the pandemic. I retired, as I had been wanting to for a while. My old body was protesting after loading and pushing gear too many years.

Coincidentally the Kool Kats band are one of our customers.

I had an oil change a year ago and the window sticker mileage tells me I've logged a little less than 200 miles in that year.

I figure I pay almost $5 per mile for car insurance. But what can I do? The state and the insurance companies have me in their grip. Maybe I should just get rid of the car and call a taxi when it's time to do my monthly grocery shopping.

since last fall. I have a Prius and let the gauge get down to 2 bars and refill. I got new tires on last fall, and barely drove the car since.

I got 2 refunds from my insurance, but not much. lol
