Every day, it's seems there's someone else at the door of the clinic, ready to start World War III over the clinic's mask requirements. They keep insisting that mask-wearing is a choice, when the sign clearly states that it's required inside the clinic.
My MA Supervisor just had to dismiss someone, literally kicking and screaming, from the clinic.

(14,349 posts)If we all knew 10 people who died - people in our lives be they family, friends, neighbors, etc. - a lot of peoples attitudes would change their opinions on this virus. Right now, too many unvaccinated people think they are immune or will only suffer the consequences of a common cold. Throw in the politicization from TFG and the unvaccinateds tendency to believe conspiracy nonsense, and its just a matter of time before a doomsday scenario happens. These maskholes are already conditioned to remain maskless if another virus comes along.

(2,618 posts)Despite signs everywhere requiring mask wearing, the airports were full of people who had their mask under their chin. It seems the new trick is to just hold a water bottle and say you are drinking, regardless of whether you actually are or not. But you really don't have to worry about that, because no one is enforcing the rule, the security people walking around with their masks under their chin as well.
And then on the plane, some Dolph Lundgren-looking guy who wasn't wearing his mask in the terminal also decided not to wear his mask on the plane, having it under his chin. Three different flight attendants interacted with him during the 2-hour flight, and not once did I see him pull his mask up. Only with 10 minutes left before landing, did one of the flight attendants who happened to be sitting directly across from him tell him to pull his mask up.

(15,369 posts)They kept having to announce that you should not pull down your mask to talk to the flight attendant. Then, I swear, half the passengers nursed their drink for the whole flight as an excuse to keep their mask pulled down. Delta was, thank goodness, still leaving middle seats empty.

(7,349 posts)My daughter and I were impressed with the mask wearing in the airports (OHare, Atlanta, Dallas and New Orleans) and on every flight. The flight attendants did need to remind a few people to wear their masks but there was no uprising or negativity against them. The people just put a mask on.
Maybe we lucked out?

(129,736 posts)a medical clinic should top the list. That's where sick people are. Maybe they don't have covid but they might have some other contagious bug. I think I'll keep wearing a mask in all such places no matter what happens to covid.
I went to my clinic the other day for a minor thing, and saw a sign on the door stating that masks are required for everyone whether or not they have been vaccinated, and appointments are set up to limit the number of people in the waiting room. All staff were wearing masks, some had face shields and rubber gloves. All the patients in the waiting room were wearing masks, didn't hear any complaining. In my area the vaccination rate is quite high and the test positivity rate is down to 0.89% but they still aren't taking chances. Clinics are where the sick people go.
