Around this time I used to use the Microsoft Plus! Aquarium screensaver.

For you slobs who thought the free 3D Maze screensaver was the cat's ass and don't know what I'm talking about, the cool kids of the day could afford Plus! and had the badass screensavers.

The pipes: it looked like plumbing pipes, but you could apply any of the backgrounds to it. The pipes would then move and grow with the background pattern in them. My favorite was the clouds. It was gorgeous!

I don't know why it's not an option anymore.

A few clicks could turn your computer into the bridge of a starship. That's the way I thought of it...
