(20,968 posts)he was a black long haired 'norwegan forest cat'. he would point his toes forward so i could brush the back of his legs, his pantaloons got brushed. my later 'maine coon' sybil would put her front paws on the desk so i could do her pantaloons.

(35,645 posts)she didn't brush him first. That was a lot of cat fur!!
Anyway, he's an adorable baby and I would just love to hug on him.

My cat has to be anesthetized by the vet to clip her claws. They hate dealing with her resistance so they charged me a huge deterring fee the last time. It worked. I can't afford to have her claws clipped when the vet clips me in the process.
She also hates being combed or brushed and has slapped a brush out of my hands while hissing at me for daring to try. She has always been like this about being brushed, since she was a kitten.
Last time I sprayed the brushing area and the brush with Felliway. Voila! No hissing. No slaps. I didn't push my luck on it for too long, but I might have found a solution.
She is normally affectionate. Loves to have her head and ears scratched and petted. She will nudge me to do it. But everywhere else on her body is off limits.
