The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI was a bit of a Karen last night
So I had a really long day at work and decided to go to Carls Jr. for lunch. I ordered, and while they were putting it together I noticed something on the menu. So I called one of the employees over.
Can I speak to your manager? Dont worry, you didnt do anything wrong.
So the manager comes out. May I help you?
Yes. Could you call corporate and tell them their electronic menu says (named three items) are free?
What do you mean?
Turn around and look.
She did. Next to the three items were the prices: $0.00.
She then started laughing. Oh my god. I never noticed that before! Yeah, well get that fixed right away. Thanks!

(131 posts)Only privileged white women ask to speak to the Manager? The way I see it you were being kind and thoughtful in pointing something out and not trying to take advantage of the situation. That makes you the opposite of a Karen.

I would want to know, so that corrections could be made.

(17,615 posts)some mid-western town late at night to eat. The food was wonderful but there was something that came with one of the meals we couldnt identify so i took the little bowl back to where the waitress were and they all kind of froze waiting for my rant and all i wanted to do was say how delicious it was but what was the name of it? Wow did they relax after I said that to them. It was some kind of corn pudding. so good! They were very happy to tell me how it was made.
Those poor waitresses must get yelled at a lot.
