Potentially the most ironic moment in space travel history

Mr. Newberger @jeremynewberger 45m
If Richard Branson's spaceship crash lands in the Amazon, and Jeff Bezos' spaceship crash lands in the Virgin Islands, we will have the most ironic moment in space travel history.

But the ego trip is greater than the space trip.

The commercialization of space is an awful thing if it goes unregulated. We've fouled up this planet so much, and now we're junking up space too. Elon Musk's sending up a Tesla into space says it all (see below).

This isn't about exploration and discovery....it's about cash and egos.

Actually, the subtext of the films "Alien" and "Aliens" is that the corporation puts profits above all else including people's lives and regulations be damned.

The problem with space, of course, is that it's really big. It will be difficult to manage if the commercialization continues.

... the annoying Zaphod character from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

And Bezos is an alien from the original Star Trek pilot.
