I read it when I was a kid. I think it raised my awareness, even if I don't remember a lot about it.
He was a Korean War orphan if I remember correctly.

(129,725 posts)but the other characters didn't. Also it wasn't funny; I liked the funny cartoons, which is why I also thought Mark Trail sucked. It still does, more than ever.
Maybe his eyes represented wide-eyed wonder. Dondi wasn't my favorite. I just liked devouring the funnies and as I got older, other parts of the paper.
I did like Mark Trail. I've always like learning wood lore.
