It was goddam freezing in CT today...

...felt more like October than July. This has been the weirdest summer here in southern New England--either hot and humid, or cold and humid. Nothing in-between, those clear, "normal" July days with low 80s during the day and cool nights for sleeping. But at least all the rain has made it green as hell--this is the lushest July I can remember. And it will keep the local weatherpeople quiet for a little while, anyway. Usually, we can have 30 inches of rain during a hurricane, and three days later they're back playing their favorite game--puckering their lips and going on about the "reservoir levels". Wish we could ship some of the rain west...

enough to swim only on one day. I wasn't in the mood for shopping in Edgartown (I have so, so many tee shirts and caps). It wasn't hot enough for the little ice cream store treats. It was a bummer, but I was experiencing a "white girls problem" so I sucked it up...
