I have to give our Social Security Administration a shout out!! Amazing!!

I am going to be 64 end of September. I take care of my 85 yr old mom who has dementia.

I waited and finally decided to make the call to the SSA in May for early retirement. They gave me appt for July 14th. Don't miss appt or you go back to the end of line.

I kept the appt. I had all docs in hand. Yesterday at 11:40am. Today, before noon, I recieved a direct deposit for May and June into my account.

I did the math on waiting till I was full retirement.
$36K + I would be out for waiting for $200 more a month.

All I'm saying here is I was amazed at the efficiency and care.

Oh heck. This was supposed to have gone into GD. Damned cataract!

I was able to do it online. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was after reading a bunch of negative comments about the process.

I didn’t really think a lot about delaying till full retirement. I think it would have taken me till I was 72 for things to balance and of course after that time it would be beneficial to have waited but I’m ok as it is and glad I retired. I felt guilty about it for a little while but pretty quickly got used to it. I worked 45 yrs. that was enough.

couldn't last until 67 the way things were going. Stuck doing jobs for folks much younger than me.

Couldn't wait to get out. Could have made substantially more by sticking it out, but I was wearing myself down too much to last.

I had business with the Social Security office right before the pandemic and they were great. Hard-working people, and they appreciate hearing it because they get their share of complaints.
