In 10 minutes I will be taking a banana, butter, chocolate chip, walnut cake out of the oven.
Homemade chocolate fudge melted will be the icing.
Then I will put in in the fridge to get nice and cold.
Sorry I can't share with everyone.

(2,555 posts)The first thing I learned in elementary school was that, if you did not bring enough for everyone.....
Back to the kitchen, and we will let you know when there is enough for everyone (which might be a while) - especially if it is anywhere near as good as it sounds.

(3,830 posts)Somehow, a lightly buttered English muffin just doesn't seem as attractive now. Lol

(26,259 posts)Bless her heart, she is doing it all. I did pitch in yesterday to season some Cajun collards, but she does everything else. And she is whipping up some tasty chow, daily. Tonite's prix fixe menu includes fresh vegetables from her visit to the farmers' market this morning (she scored corn, tomatos, okra, squash, little cukes, and my favorite - well, second only to collards - fresh, shelled butterbeans). It will be a meatless dinner tonight.
Two days ago she made some bodacious bran muffins using her best friend's recipe (her bestie brought some over last week, and I raved about them). Well, Dr. Zart's were better! And there is an extra, added attraction these delicious bran muffins have. It has to do with a deleterious side effect of the pain meds.
I ate three for breakfast yesterday and this morning. Mid-morning yesterday the desired result kicked in. It was a blessed event. Praise Jeebus!

(167,106 posts)It's too hot to put an oven on here (just hit 92 with 62% humidity). But I did finally go on and get one of those Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer things the other day and tested it out yesterday and this morning. It's the model that is not huge (not the "Pro" ), but appears to be big enough to put an 8"x8" baker in it and maybe even a 9"x13" (without handles). Can also fit some loaf pans in there too along with my 3.5 qt Le Creuset dutch oven. Otherwise there's no way I'm putting on my friggin' gas oven at this time of year- even if it was in the early morning. At least not until fall/winter!
