Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsMy wife's the best. I had a royally shitty nasty day yesterday and she stuck with me to take care.
It started by getting up too early after not sleeping well. She helped me take a bath (can't safely do it alone). I felt dizzy and nauseous for no obvious reason. Then we had to go to a class on how to use my new fancy-dancy injection pen. After the two of us (other than my wife) in the class had been there 45 minutes and she had been upstairs to reception three times, she FINALLY determined that the instructor wasn't there. So she called her. Half an hour later she showed up.
The class took over an hour but was very instructive and I gave myself my first injection. So far so good. Heading out to the car, I got dizzy and felt nauseous (two of the side effects). We got home and I went up to bed. It got worse. All I'd had all day was water and I had no interest in food. From here it was an afternoon of hell with dry heaves and things that go far beyond that which I will avoid describing in detail. I lost several of my pills. This wasn't a side effect. I was sick.
She'd taken the day off to go to my class and I'm glad she did because I needed her support all afternoon and into the evening. Not once did I hear anything selfless. I finally managed to get a benny and some oxy in me and made it to sleep. In the middle of the night, the pain was back and she went downstairs for more drugs and fresh ice water. She got up to go to work this morning, took care of everything (including me) and left me to sleep off the drugs. I'm still a little stoned, but that's normal. And I feel a lot better. Still no solid food, but I've been getting down some fruit juice. A fried egg actually sounds good.
I like being married to my best friend.
Sorry to dump, but she's the only thing that kept yesterday from being a complete disaster.

(47,675 posts)My T-score is down in the mid-red zone. The pen is a daily injection for 2 years that's supposed to reconstruct the bone into a safer zone and then it's back to bisphosphonates for maintenance. My back's got a bunch of fractures, many of them self-induced during seizures. But hey, it's Friday the 13th and that's a lucky day for me so back to fun.

I am so, so sorry you are feeling low and hope you feel better today. Take care of yourself!

(47,675 posts)I feel a lot better. I can sort of walk, but I'm under wife's orders to have one of the kids spot me on the stairs. She'll be home in three hours. I'll feel even better then.

(47,675 posts)It had to have been viral. I've been relatively fine today, had three glasses of juice, and my daughter made me an egg, cheese, and pepper tortilla wrap. So far no problem. I'm actually thinking beer at the moment, well, after my wife gets home. We don't have any in the house right now.

I hope you feel better today. Drink lots of water. Sounds like you're probably really dehydrated.
