Is she camping there? I have friends who live about 40 miles from Lake Tahoe, it is such gorgeous country.

5. She said yesterday she went to Carson City

Home of the mighty bonanza ranch. She is camping out in a pup tent out by the beautiful lake. In fact, a Ranger came by and told her to beware of bears in the area.

8. Lucky her, she picked a great spot to camp.

She might want to put her food in bags and throw it over a big branch and tie it off on another tree if the bears are coming around. That's what I used to do when camping in Yosemite. Also found out whistles and banging pots works too to chase away opportunistic black bears.

12. Every time I went to Carson City I had to visit Virginia City too..

For those that aren't familiar with it, it's an "old west" town that was a hub of silver mining in the 1800s, & folks like Mark Twain spent time there. I always enjoyed a visit to the Bucket of Blood Saloon, & there are historic graveyards nearby.

Told her there were bears in the area and make sure to pack up all food before going to bed at night so bears would not be interested.
