A billion years ago, I got a credit card. The name on the card was First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name. Back then, you got put on mailing lists and had all kinds of crap mailed to your home. Over time, the mail started arriving as Middle Initial, Last Name. I never changed the name when I got married and over more time, the mail arrived as Middle Initial, Last Name, Married Last Name. Honestly when your mail starts with an initial, it sounds more important.
Then somehow, the Married Last Name was misspelled. So mail arrived as Middle Initial, Last Name, Misspelled Married Last Name.
More time, there was a name swap and it became Middle Initial, Misspelled Married Last Name, Last Name.
The latest is Misspelled Married Last Name, Last Name. He seems like a nice guy but the initial is gone.
But now I get reminders to sign up for Medicare, retirement home sales, AARP, etc. all telling me I AM ELIGIBLE NOW!!!!
I tell ya, this guy has seen some mailing lists!
Incidentally, I am female and the actual card is still in my First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name.

(118,501 posts)when you are filling in data ( mostly non credit card forms on the internet) you then get a warning someone was sold your data when you see your name spelt wrong on an important email notice or letter.
