The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsJust made slime with my grand. I have questions
When did slime become such a thing? From something to handle to Baskin-Robbins slime of the month?
My granddaughter brought a slime kit to use. It has 2 5 oz. bottles of Elmer's metallic glue, and 2 3 oz. bottles of Magical Liquid to mix with the glue to make slime. It isn't really slimy, more like taffy, and it seems after we are done making it, there's not much you can do with it. And who makes something for kids called Magical Liquid, with no ingredients listed? What if kids think they can drink it and become invisible? I'd like to know what's in it, and have an antidote lined up!
I hope my granddaughter had fun, as I pondered on what we were doing :/

(11,676 posts)My granddaughter has made it from scratch, from kits
Done tons of colors, different glitters added to it
At one point I called the doctors office to make sure there wasnt something dangerous going on (she seemed possessed)
The nurse just lol and said its just the current fad, no worries
Look at it this way, when she is making slime she isnt staring at a screen
