Nerdy mathematics question about Morgan Freeman and distributive property

https://news.yahoo.com/texas-hospital-system-confirms-first-210414035.html

As theGrio previously reported, back in the spring Hollywood heavyweight Morgan Freeman sent out an important message to any of his fans who may be on the fence about getting the COVID vaccine.

The Oscar-winner starred in a PSA for The Creative Coalition and the Ribbon Task Force titled “Be There. This Is Your Shot.” The spot essentially urges Americans to “take care of one another” and do their part in the fight against the coronavirus by getting vaccinated.

“I’m not a doctor, but I trust science. And I’m told that, for some reason, people trust me,” Freeman explained in the PSA. “So here I am to say I trust science and I got the vaccine. If you trust me, you’ll get the vaccine. In math, it’s called the distributive property. In people, it’s called taking care of one another. Get the vaccine. Help make our world a safe place for us to enjoy ourselves again. Please.”

I don't understand what he meant about the distributive property. Can someone math-savvy explain it to me, who is not so math savvy ? Thanks.

I think it's more the transitive property of equality... Ned Low Jul 2021 #1

... if a=b and b=c, then a=c. If you trust Morgan Freeman and Morgan Freeman trusts science, then you'll trust science.

AX(B+C) = AXB+AXC

if (as tends to happen) 3+4=7 then 2X(3+4) =14 and 2X3 + 2X4 also = 14

i suppose mr freeman is using distributive property as a figure of speech.

is when you are presented with multiplying a quantity that is being either added or subtracted first. 3(2+3)=3(5)=15. However, rather than adding first, you can “distribute” the 3 across the parentheses by multiplying each term separately and adding them together. 3(2+3)= 3(2)+3(3) = 6+9=15. This property is helpful in algebra when multiplying by variables. I teach my students to use it when doing mental math: 12(13)=12(10+3)=120+36=156.

Having said all of that, I have no clue as to why Morgan Freeman used it in the ad. Lol.

I'll go with the suggestion that he meant "transitive property," as suggested upthread. I can't see any way the distributive property (also explained upthread) could apply, and I'm fairly good at figuring out analogies.
