I think I'm on the mend. The no sense of smell thing is pretty freaky.

My wife was making a batch of Kara Age (Japanese fried chicken)and fried rice for a friend's daughter's birthday party and half way through it just got less and less aromatic.

She brought a sample for me to check (bonus!) and asked if there was too much garlic. That's when I realized that I couldn't smell any garlic, at all. And by the next morning I couldn't smell much of anything

Since then I've been randomly sniffing things to see what I can smell.

Barely get any Kim Chee - even though the jar I tried has fermented so long the Daikon slices are practically clear.

Thanks for your kind thoughts

Some kick-ass red beans and rice! The secret ingredient is pickle juice. (So I guess it’s no longer secret!)

And now she's the undisputed master of the collared, turnip and mustard greens.

She switched from hocks to turkey tales a while ago and I've been converted too. For Green

But for picnic beans, only smoked hocks are allowed

... so she's taking the opportunity to eat some strawberry/banana yoghurt that her husband loves and she hates. Hey, when life gives you lemons, etc...
