It's this:
Is Stevie Nicks the only thing you need to prove that cocaine is bad for you?
Haggard Celine
(16,834 posts)Of course, most cocaine users don't let themselves get that far gone.

He's certainly not necessary.

(16,834 posts)I don't see a spark of former glory there. Stevie Nicks was pretty great, though. She seemed to do it all on her terms, though, so it was her choice. We all end up as dust anyway, though, no matter what we do, and whether we last an extra 30 or 40 years doesn't add up to much in the grand scheme of things. I think we come back again and again until we do the best with what we've got. Then, who knows?

(3,587 posts)Are you basing this on looks? (she is 76 years old, if only I looked that good)
Are you basing this on her wealth? She is worth over 90 million (if only)
Are you basing this on her voice? Some people are fans, others are not.
Is there something else you are basing this on? Just trying to figure out where you are coming from.

(33,457 posts)It was a kind of private joke, a memory, that popped into my head and somehow found it's way to my keyboard.
I lived in a set of people once, where remarks like this constituted what passed as musical criticism, always phrased as philosophy jokes. A Fleetwood Mac song showed up around me, and I thought of those people.
I am in certainly no position to criticize looks. I'm a walking Rodney Dangerfield joke. I don't care about money, and, as for singing, I guess she's OK; she probably sings better than I do. I'm not a fan and never really thought about it.
Joke is the operative word, not a good joke, a private joke, but a joke all the same.

(17,175 posts)Ultimately, this is a question of extension, which can only be dealt with by rigorous application of a postieri reasoning. If we are trying to determine the effects of a substance on the whole population of humans, then our sample pool must be greater than one.
