Who knows what these cats may have gone through to perform like this. Just my 2 cents.

However, my favorite husband (he died) used to have a way with cats. He taught several of ours some pretty nifty tricks, never harming any of them.

They just are breeds of cat, which exist, that are more doglike and easily trainable.

Pretty cynical to accuse them of abuse.

11. Have you ever known a cat that responded to punishment or something it didn't want to do?

I have not.

Do you think that dogs who do tricks have also been abused?

3. I've long been entertained by seeing trained animals like elephants, horses and dogs perform.

Trained cats is a new one for me but I strongly suspect that any successful animal act requires a
great deal of care and affection between trainer and trainee. We do know that there have been and
are abuses but I hope that's not the case here.

7. Not all cat breeds or even cats

Are untrainable.

My last two cats play fetch, chase and were/are very good and touch motivated, as well as my current cat is extremely affectionate and needy.

She's basically a dog.

Cats are a lot more varied than folks think.

9. I had a feral once who would run to greet me when I came home from work

Not every time, but I never tried to train him to do anything. He was a talker. I was gone for several days once, with the hubby home to feed the cat, and when I got home the cat gave me a piece of his mind for being gone so long. He meowed and meowed when he first saw me. Nicest cat I've ever met. I have two now who are friendly. One loves my lap. Both neutered.

10. Had my prior cat for 11 years before she passed from heart cancer
Wed Aug 11, 2021, 05:13 PM

she would greet me at the door every single day and rub my boots a little bit and then present for butt rubs.

It's how I knew she was sick when she didn't immediately say hello.

If you treat them like dogs as kittens, they will grow up like dogs as adults for the most part. Playful, affectionate, and wanting to be near you.
