(57,488 posts)1. I once had a cat that got that way at the vet's. She escaped and wrecked two rooms
at the vet's and took a heavy, leather, elbow length glove off the doctor's arm. She growled, yelled, and wet herself from fright. We decided not to attempt more treatment or vaccinations for her. She died at age 16.

(60,148 posts)2. My dear Murphy cat was like that.
Our vet had a thick transparent plastic box, with a lid/handle top.The box had lots of holes big enough for large needles.
So the trick was to fit the open top of the box over the opened carrier top ( Very quickly), thus over the cat, then slide the handled part under cat as the bottom of the carrier was moved away.
You ended up with a furious cat who could be kept immobilized by the pressure of the handled part pressing slowly down inside the contraption.
Then pick a proper spot for the injection of sedation.
Vet was rather proud of the cat holder,, he had designed it.
