1. A few weeks ago, an angry guy stormed a local Dairy Queen

He was claiming that he had ordered a Cookies and Cream Bday cake for his daughter. DQ was saying that he hadn't called it in. He was yelling and saying, "I called the other DQ and they said they I couldn't preorder, so I called here"...He storms out and then came back in and started yelling again...

I was like, "You're going off the deep end over a bday cake?"....
I'm sure he was a MAGAT...
He must be a total a__ is real life...

I stayed as far as possible away from him.

2. I don't know if anyone else finds this as rude as I did but years ago I met some guy

on a dating app and went to eat with his. The way he ordered was this:

Gimme a ........

And gimme a ........

And gimme a .............

I was mortified. I thought the guy grew up in a barn and I wanted to apologize to the waiter. I guess maybe they hear it all. But many years ago I waitressed for a few different places and I don't remember anyone talking like a 2 year old to order things

I was raised to give a restaurant order like this: "May I please have..."

So hearing someone say something as seemingly inoffensive as "I want..." makes me cringe...

I'd like the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and no gravy.
And I'd like an iced tea to go with it.
Thank you.

my meal choice and again when I am served.

It doesn't take much to be respectful.

For some reason, it doesn’t bother me as much as the people who order by saying
“I want...”
“I want ...”

Maybe because “gimme” is more casual and “I want” sounds like a demanding toddler?

It’s amazing how some people lose what manners they have when talking to waitstaff. I swear the pandemic has made it worse. We’re still doing carry out only, so I’ve been dealing with customers over the phone. It’s been rough.

Saying “I want a BLT” or “Give me a BLT” is considered rude?
Sorry ~ I just don’t see it.

What can I get you?
Give me a BLT.

Not everything has to be Trump related.

First in the restaurant business & then in retail. I could tell 100's of horror stories. And maybe even more humorous ones. Also quite a few feel-good heartwarming stories as well.

When you have to deal with other people in most situations a certain percentage are going to be assholes,
