I hate ketchup with a purple passion. When I eat at a restaurant and there's a bottle of ketchup on the table, I erect a little barrier with the napkin dispenser and steak sauce bottles and other things to hide the ketchup bottle behind so I don't even have to look at it. I love the movie "The Martian" but I cringe at that scene when Mark Watney is putting ketchup on baked potatoes, and later, when he laments that he has just run out of ketchup, I breathe a sigh of relief. I'm on Pat Sajak's side when he berates Vanna White for putting ketchup on her hot dogs (I like mustard, onions and sauerkraut on mine). Have you ever visited Belgium? I visited that small country briefly twice in the early 20-aughts and ate at McDonalds a couple of times. They dip their french fries in mayonnaise.

To sum up: I hate ketchup.

Heinz used to make blue and green ketchups for a short while. It must have tasted exactly the same, (never tried them, but our sense of taste is influenced by our vision. Hot dogs should be red. Butter should be yellow. Ketchup should be red. Ranch dressing should be some kind of white. This Google search site has some interesting questions and answers about off-colored ketchup.

SO keeps change in a built-in cup holder in his vehicle. He spills coffee while driving and somehow the coffee ends up on his vehicle coin collection. I take the sticky and stuck together coins out of the cup holder and place them on a paper towel that I smeared ketchup on. It unsticks the coins and cleans them up super nice.



Most recently I had a quarter stuck to my vintage plyboard made PC desk. I was afraid to use too much force and end up taking the finish up with it. I dabbed ketchup all around the quarter with a Q-Tip and let it set for an hour. The quarter came right off without damaging the finish to my desk.

Dad loved them so Mom had to learn how to make this odd pastry. And Dad always dipped his in ketchup so all us kids learned to do that, too.

A note about your breakfast sausages & ketchup: While my husband and I were in the UK we stayed at bed & breakfasts several times. They always had a full English breakfast available: fried eggs, sausages, back bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried bread, baked beans, and often a slice of white or black pudding. And they were always surprised when we turned down the full thing, along with the ketchup that seemed to be an integral part of the full English breakfast.
