Spam calls

Is anyone else getting a raft of spam calls today? The only one I picked up was a spam SS Number call. I was expecting a call from the state identified in the caller id, so I picked up. So far there have been 5.

1. I find the greatest number of spam calls are on Monday mornings.

Yesterday was a holiday so maybe they are catching up.

2. 3-4 /day for more than a year now. I google the numbers and they are all "unknown"...

With technology allowing random numbers to be rotated by spammers/scammers, I should not be surprised.


Honestly, what has me more concerned right now is the texts I am getting, which I'd never had a problem with before. They off course spoof Amazon, or other companies with which I have a relationship and include links--all very officious-appearing. Of course, I delete them and block the numbers (knowing the latter is meaningless), but... How did this become a thing? Am I going to eventually reach my 1000/text per month included in my data plan because of these jackasses?

3. I got a spam text to a large number of recipients

Now I'm spending the afternoon deleting the other people's group replies. I don't blame them, but just deleting the text is the right thing to do.

4. Yeah I get 4-8 per day

You would think they are catching on to my wasting their time but NOOOO,

5. So far

I have had two calls about "Medicare" supported medical braces. They never give up.

6. Getting on the national "do not call" list pretty much ended

my problems.

7. The people who are spamming everybody pay no attention to the DNC list

I never answer my phone unless I recognize the number, and I get constant spam calls.
