Maybe Joy Reid's makeup team is doing hers as well. Her hair has looked like that in the past several times but not during most of the pandemic.
Plus she had just gotten back from vacation recently.

... mainly, I thought her eyes look different... but, now that you mention it, the hair looks darker an lighter in different places. No matter, her show is very good.
