(269,157 posts)Unsure of his obvious brilliance,- self-doubting and so afraid to fail that he does the research. Meanwhile Slobby just makes shit up.
That interview made me smile - I really like Matt.

(4,623 posts)I cheated and listened to the new episode on the way home from work tonight. Usually, we listen to the new show the next day at work, but I figured something was up with Matt when I saw your thread title earlier (thanks for the spoiler warning!)
Speculation: Did he throw the first round to make it more of a challenge? He usually doesnt guess at stuff hes not sure of, and by his intro/interview segments, he seems like a guy who would do that just to see what happened, just to see if he could start the 2nd round with no money and still win. And it sounds like he has a group of buddies who might suggest such a thing to him.
When I heard the double jeopardy topics, I knew he would win. Almost all were right in his sweet spot.
Also, judging by his barely there, tiny giggle (!) after answering one question, he might be a Rush fan!
Heres hoping he surpasses that smarmy Ken Jennings records!
(so annoyed hes going to be hosting again)
I'm not sure anyone with pass Ken in terms of number of games (74) He won $2.5M dollars, but James Holzhauer, was only $56,485 short of Jennings' winning cash total during his 32-game winning streak. Matt has now won 22 and he isn't close to James' money haul.
Matt's 22-day total is $775,401.
Me.
(35,454 posts)I am determined to stick with it as long as Matt is winning. I like that he doesn't do all the hijinks that some, like ryan grim, did/do. You know, pumping the air etc.
