6. I saw something on facebook recently

Says Don't sit on the floor without a plan on how to get back up. I'm understanding that more and more lately.

8. Sometimes it requires the but scuttle

Especially if your knees can’t take the pain of kneeling. Just use your buttox to scuttle your way to where you need to go.

10. It's much easier to just place a covered board on a spare bed

and do all the floor exercises there

9. Seriously we now have a covered piece of light board

that is on a spare bed for floor exercises and the Ab slide - getting up from the floor is now a task.

11. It's gotten more difficult since I had my surgery

That was bypass surgery, it took a lot out of me. Had the surgery just before Covid hit, so being on lockdown hasn't helped either. Ugh, I hate getting old!

12. I don't waste time hating getting old

because it is either get old or die, so I work hard to stay fit and well. And yes I know that too will be a struggle one of these days. Hope you're healing well.

14. I tried ignoring getting old, it didn't work

The surgery was a complete surprise, went in for a test and boom, the next day was having the surgery. Covid set me back a bit, didn't have a chance to recover before it hit, and like most, I've been lazy since it did hit.

None shall escape except those who die suddenly and don't get hit with the old age issues truck.

17. At 92 the doctors told my dad they saw no reason that he wouldn't live to 100..

He wasn’t that thrilled by the idea.

My dad's youngest sister died at 97, but she didn't even know she was alive.
Her best friend died the year after at 98 - she was lucid but could barely move a muscle.

19. My dad had all his marbles and a sense of humor.

But... he could barely hear or see and mobility was getting worse.

So basically he was inside his own head all day and night. He said it’s very lonely.

I was lucky because he could still hear me on the phone. So I called him everyday.

22. My husband and I used to joke about our mothers

His mother had severe COPD but a sharp mind, mine had dementia but a body in pretty good shape. We'd joke that if we could combine them, we'd have an old lady that would live forever. Unfortunately, they are both gone, but by the time they each went, it was a blessing since life was a burden to them at the end.
