(20,601 posts)are so afraid of a vaccine but think nothing of dousing themselves in personal care products that may contain harmful chemicals without a thought. Personal care products are not tested for safety and most people do not know that - it is voluntary. The same people eat crappy food that does nothing for nutrition and health. My guess is they are the same people who denigrate activists who try to get corporations to limit their toxic emissions too. It is all quite ridiculous.

(42,770 posts)of Sheryl Crow. She had breast cancer and had done in depth research. She said the number one thing that people are ignoring is that what you put on your skin needs to be 100% natural. She also warned, and I won't forget, that you shouldn't ever drink water from a plastic bottle that has been warmed, like in a hot car.
Didn't mean to drag this down into a serious category. But it is serious, huh.

(8,387 posts)But there are plenty of toxic natural compounds you shouldnt put on your skin, and many perfectly benign non-natural ones.
Be that as it may, Im curious about how one is to determine the temperature history of a bottle of water. Since bottled water is not transported in refrigerated trucks, nor is it stored under refrigeration, exactly how do you know what temperatures it has been exposed to since the time it was bottled?

(8,387 posts)Is there some simple way to tell if the bottle has been stored in a heated room or truck prior to purchasing it? Or do I have to read the book to know?

(140 posts)For you to smell.most of the smells are actually the result of biochemical reactions mediated by microbes that create aldehydes. Dead microbes like bacteria and fungus also make food edible, tasty, and smell good.

(57,427 posts)of the gut to make new ducts from the kidney to a stoma on my abdomen, to collect in a bag. the complication was they had to stop the surgery while they got a hold of the surgeon who had given me a partial resection of my colon the year before and get a grip on what she had done so as to be able to salvage enough gut to make the new ducts. I was in the hospital for three weeks and flat on my back for about a month at home.
I'm sure you would have been there for me, as there are a bunch of others to help, but ol' chin was who I got a hold of. He had sent me about 20 messages asking me what happened to me. I probably didn't post past messaging chin for at least several weeks.
I'm on a couple of other boards and tried a bunch more.
But DU is my home and I KNOW there are a bunch of people who have truly cared for me and and others, it's an experience that's hard to explain to outsider. And it makes me mush even thinking of it. It's more than the great administration, it's about all of us reaching other out to connect with other, and create change.
I appreciate you, too!

(1,082 posts)But I cant imagine how it would be to not be able to smell wonderful things like the smell of decomposing fall leaves. Maybe bad smells are natures way of telling us to stay away.
nocoincidences
(2,236 posts)When you do, your reaction to run away is a big indicator that 'bad smells are nature's way of telling us to stay away'.
Smelling gas will also give you that run away reaction, but not like "dead."
The first time you smell 'dead' and totally freak, you know that smell is hard-wired in your brain.

I know if one of my cats or dogs are in trouble by their cry/voice. In that case you don't run away, you run toward!

(3,431 posts)Instead of dryer sheets, 100% wool balls will dry your clothes up to 20% faster, soften your clothing, and help reduce static. You can even add a few drops of essential oil like lavender to the balls. They last for years, save money, and are better for your health as well as the environment.
