Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsHave you seen the "Welcome to my vagina" commercial?
I saw this a night or two ago, and had a WTF moment.
It is for a non-hormonal birth control method, which is commendable, but, IMO, has way crossed the boundaries of what is appropriate. And I spent a career in health care, so am relatively non-shockable.

potassium bitartrate is cream of tartar!
So, it's basically food and it works!
Requires an prescription....

I guess in a pinch you can use it in baking.

(15,801 posts)what's going on with Madison Avenue, what with commercials with talking butts, promos for products treating "stinky crevices", ED commercials with doctors with hilarious toupes . . . so this fits right in. At least it's more palatable than the ad for the machine that sucks snot out of your nose. Almost makes me miss campaign season. Almost.

Creative - funny - certainly delivers the 'message!'

(14,966 posts)body functions (including but not limited to sex-related organs) and a lot fewer hangups about the same, so even when things like this miss the mark, I don't tend to mind.
That said, I haven't seen it.
It would have to be morally depraved or shock the conscience for me to get fussed about it, probably.

(90,764 posts)Sure. It was a wee bit surprising at first - the commercial - but the decor was the greater assault on the senses.
But one can decorate their own vagina however they want to decorate it. Real or imagined.
No matter how tacky.

(102,247 posts)stomach-churning way, the ad-men are all in--whether it is bodily functions, smells, tragic health complications, or whatever. Is it any wonder why so many try to preempt seeing ANY commercials?
That said, the product COULD and SHOULD be introduced in a more appropriate way.
BTW, I feel for teachers of young kids, especially boys, who quite naturally take all this crap in and repeat it in even more inappropriate ways at school. That one, could lead to a hell of a lot of verbal harassment--directed to their young female classmates.
Of course, where there is $$$ to be made, we aren't allowed to push back, I guess.
And, for those that may want to one-up each other proving that THEY are the cool ones in terms of this kind of thing, I too have worked as a health professional and seen more than most can imagine in their wildest dreams or imagination. I also see the unpleasant consequences of taking some issues so lightly--because it "was on tv!" or a resultant "tik-tok challenge" or "Americans are waaay too prudish about body parts, but I AM SOOO NOT!..."
