Question for medical professionals

Had major back surgery 4 weeks ago and everything went great but I have 1 concern. When they started the IV before the operation she tried it first and said oh it popped I have to do another one well that one hurt like crazy going in and she says don't worry they'll redo it during the operation. When they took the IV out when I was leaving the hospital when the end did the tape I swore it just fell off there was no yanking or pulling out it fell off when the tape came off and ever since then I got a hard spot in that vein about three quarters of an inch to an inch long where it hasn't changed any it's hard as a rock and it hasn't gotten any softer in 4 weeks

I'm not a medical professional and hope some will weigh in, but I've had several surgeries including one where an IV infiltrated and caused a hematoma (big bruise) but I never had a hard lump in the vein.

The the doctor the next day for a follow-up on the surgery and mentioned it to him and he said it's probably just a calcium buildup and that it would go away but it hasn't changed at all. They told me unless there was swelling or a line going up my arm or something they didn't think it was a big deal

I’m sure it would take awhile to heal, you can ask your doctor if they even did this.
