is "House MD" a good show?

1. I actually got into it a few years ago, but...

after I figured out the formula for it, and when I didn't find the characters especially compelling, I dropped it.

Now? I routinely channel surf past it.

2. It's entertaining

He’s a deeply flawed character. It’s decent enough to keep one entertained but he’s a bit too much at times.

3. Hugh Laurie is great at playing an ahole.

Some of the episode stories are ingenious or touching.
I remember being annoyed by the casual sexism and racism, but there's the 90s. Ignore the utter absurdity of 5 mds all working for days in one case.

Especially (here's the racism) the black doctor, who House thinks must be the best felon among his assistants.

5. We watched the whole series,,,

one of the seasons was abit tiresome,,,, but overall we enjoyed it,,, it was years ago now.

Must admit I have watched all of the seasons twice. Well, I have watched a lot of seasons of a lot of shows more than once. Pandemic Binge watching.

14. I watched it and liked it for awhile.

My wife, a retired RN would go nuts trying to watch it. She says it was the most inaccurate medical program she has ever seen. Still entertaining, I think.

18. First couple seasons it was pretty good.

Decent premise and Hugh Laurie was great in it. Last two seasons sort of jumped the shark, but as a combination detective/doctor series in the inductive reasoning model (vice deductive) it was pretty good and stretched credulity only half the time.

The snark could be cruel, but his character was supposed to be a bit cruel due to his personal issues. You aren't supposed to like House, you were supposed to respect his intellect and maybe feel some pity at his cynicism.
