I have occasionally posted this, but it cannot be posted enough.

I am so totally blown away by her vocals. I'm someone who can barely sing "Happy birthday" so that you'll recognize it. If there is reincarnation, I hope in my next life I can at least carry a tune.

Some years ago I was at a funeral service for a young person, and at the end a hymn of some sort was sung. It might have been something like "We shall gather at the River". I don't really recall, because it was a hymn I wasn't familiar with, pagan that I am. But more to the point, I was directly in front of someone with a marvelous voice, and I simply stood there and listened. As sad as the occasion was, the death of a high school student, I was transfixed by the person in back of me.

but sounded terrible. His parents got him private voice lessons and that was it. Sang solos in the choir after that.

I have often thought that I should seek out voice lessons, so that I could at least carry a recognizable tune. At this point in my life, it probably won't happen, but I still cherish the thought.

When my younger son was in 7th grade and they were going to do some kind of concert, he'd actually sing in the car as I was driving him to and from school. It was lovely, and he had a very pleasing voice. Alas, he never sang for me before or after.

She may have had a chance if she hadn't brought Abbie Hoffman as her date!

Heard her live back in 1970 with the Airplane of course, they were magic! Talk about magic, getting to see her and Janis Joplin at the same show - West Palm Beach Pop Festival is one of the highlights of my life. What a lineup that night - Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Grand Funk, and the Rollling Stones. Wow! One of these bands is so unlike the others, lol.
