*This wind-up toy was patented in 1871 and was said to be revolutionary. The mechanical doll supposedly moved naturally, and crawled just like a real baby. It was popular at the time and was even said to promote early crawling in babies.*
(The arms and legs made crawling motions, and a wheel in the center moved the doll forward. Just like a real baby.)
