My wife noticed a gentlemen who walks at the same time everyday. She noted today he wasn't out on his walk and she asked him why?
He said he's not walking because his Fitbit isn't working.
We remain, in fact, screwed.

(22,172 posts)For example, how did we get by with rotary dial phones?
How did we get by when calling a business, and these stupid menu options were not available yet and an actual person answered the phone?
How did we monitor our budgets without computers?
I can't remember exactly how we did it, but we did.
I think that technology is generally a good thing, but it really creates a total dependence on it, and tends to make you forget that things can be done the old school way.

(10,599 posts)I'm so unbelievably reliant on technology to figure Tax Returns.
I have zero doubt that the Tax Returns are more complex and complicated due to the fact computers can process them. If it had to be done manually, it would be impossible except for simple returns.
I look back at Tax Returns from the 1980's and early part of the 90's, and they were so much simpler, with fewer Forms.
