A peaceful moment for you today

Located on the south bank of the Illinois River in LaSalle County, Starved Rock offers 13 miles of well established trails winding through 18 canyons, with views of gorgeous waterfalls and rock formations (including the 125-foot butte overlooking the river that gives the park its name).

And how can I, born in evil days
And fresh from failure, ask a kindness of Fate?

By Po Chü-i (772-846 C.E.) is the quintessential Chinese poet. Clear thought and depth of wisdom inform his work.

I wish I would have known about Starved Rock. For me, that was a different time and I was in a dysfunctional relationship; sadly, getting out and seeing natural beauty like this was not on my radar.
