Sonnet 29
William Shakespeare - 1564-1616
When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on theeand then my state,
Like to the lark at break of day arising

For some reason I always think of the song My Girl when I read this verse. I just love it. It expresses so much of the conflict of feelings in the human condition
