Do you deconstruct jokes when told to you?

...making technical points and rebuttals?

Basically destroying whatever humor's intended?

You must know my lovely wife.

I laugh at jokes all the time and I try to tell them as best I can. I've posted them here on DU several times.
Here's a good one I just posted the other day:

Women have a different way of looking at things, and I can say this because I'm a woman. My male friends and associates don't always laugh at the things that I think are funny. So I guess it works both ways.

...complete with histories of participants and qualifications of circumstances, etc.

She gets me chuckling, throughout.

Puns and plays on words or pop phrases are becoming increasingly popular. That really gets me chortling.

Yes, I said, chortling, like chortling along with NPR in my car - one of my secret faves.

Likely the aim.

Brother-in-law sends me jokes that have underlying RW assumptions that are not true. I was accused of not having a sense of humor when I replied with corrections to those underlying assumptions. They want us to normalize their lies.
