This is the first time since then that I feel well enough to post anything, or to DO anything besides just lying around. I had a milder reaction to the initial shots. This time, my arm, shoulder, and back muscles really, really ached. Felt tired, sluggish, and blah. Did nothing but sleep and watch movies since a few hours after the shot. No fever, but achiness, fatigue, and sore throat did me in.
I had a Moderna arm rash about a week after the second shot so I'll be watching for it this time, too.

(204,779 posts)I felt pretty rotten after shot #2, had bad chills and felt woozy that night and the next day, so I was preparing for the same after the booster. I'm sorry that you felt so awful, but you know that it's working. Hope you feel better soon...

(21,345 posts)now, just a little tender, but only if I touch it. By comparison, the second shot was milder, only caused a slightly elevated temp (few tenths of a degree), some very mild aches in my back, and a lost appetite for a few hours, like just before getting a cold. This time, the fatigue, sore throat, and aches were strong, more like a full case of the flu.
But now I feel better prepared for the holidays. Actually, for right now, since western NY and the Finger Lakes have the highest infection rates in the state and rising. There is some talk of maybe going to virtual schools and setting some general curfews again. Infection rates of 10% and 11% now. Imagine what they will be AFTER Thanksgiving, then after Christmas and New Year. One hospital now is over capacity and the rest are nearly full.
Were getting our boosters on Monday and we dont have obligations until later on Wednesday. Moderna#2 wiped me out with flu-like symptoms for about 12 hours. Trying to plan ahead!
Hope youre feeling back to normal!

(21,345 posts)the day before the booster in case I felt sick after the shot - cooking, laundry, cleaning - so I wouldn't need to do anything afterward. Glad I did.

(1,477 posts)Tired, a little foggy, muscle aches. My arm swelled and hurt after #2 but not with the booster.

(21,345 posts)milder since my body was already accustomed to the vaccine, but not so. It really hit me this time.

(31,374 posts)Sore arm gone. Some muscle/joint stiffness yesterday. Gone today. Some fatigue Thursday so went to be early Thursday and was awake to see lunar eclipse. Slept fine last night.
I didn't have much reaction to either first or second Moderna. I did push fluids for the second and the booster to be well hydrated. Also had both in my right arm, to keep it moving since I'm right handed.
Very pleased to have the booster.
