Good morning, fellow Loungers.

I'm taking the advice of a beloved DU friend, and posting a thread that's not about work or drinking.

I hope you're all having a good week so far, and that everyone has exciting plans for Thanksgiving.

I love you all...

I do not have exciting plans for Thanksgiving; I have no plans at all (except for waiting with bated breath to see Pillow Guy's lawsuit before the Supreme Court) and that's just the way I like it. I hope your plans are also for whatever you want them to be.

Our grandson is living with us right now, but he will be going to his Dad's for Thanksgiving dinner.

There's a certain delight in making a Thanksgiving meal for two, instead of twenty. Making the mashed potatoes (my job) doesn't take nearly as long, for one thing.

I actually bought an electric potato peeler. I’ve taken a lot of crap for it, but I don’t care. It gets the job done faster, easier, and almost as well as doing it by hand. I’ve also taken to doing make ahead mashed potatoes, which uses baked rather than boiled potatoes — no peeling involved.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Just DH, myself, daughter, her husband and the 3 grandkids (11, 7 and 3). Turkey thawing in fridge, groceries bought, house almost clean. Son and wife in Florida, my brother and niece spending the day with his late wife’s family. Over the years so many people gone - our parents, DH’s brother and his wife, my brother’s wife. But the kids fill some of the empty seats at the table.
