Last edited Thu Nov 25, 2021, 10:41 PM - Edit history (1)

being advertised on TV?.......I wonder if anyone can beat this.. Singin' in the Rain ..1952

I finally saw it in a movie theater (during a special showing for a holiday) on a full screen in early 1980s....
......yes, far better than other forms...but if you have never seen this movie....................

See it whatever.....could be the finest musical movie ever made...(dancing, singing, script. songs..etc)
.........and often rated that way...
...IMBD (Internet Movie Data Base).Singin In The Rain. & ...: 8.3..out of ten
...by comparison...High Noon...Great Western.......................8.0 out of ten
...another comparison: Star Wars (A New Hope) ................ 8.6 out of ten

what seemed like forever. I was still a little kid, so my parents didn't take me or my brother. The first I remember seeing was Robinson Caruso on Mars. My was five and my nine year old brother and I rode the bus downtown in Spokane to see it. No big deal in those days. I think other neighbor kids were with us too.

It wasn't until about ten years ago I got both of those movies from Netflix. I saw Dr. Zhivago for the first time and loved it. No wonder it was so huge.

...with Raquel Welch. 1968 or 1969. Welch played a stripper who is being hunted by the murderous ex-husband of her fellow stripper friend who was killed by the ex-husband. Seems he thought his former wife had been lead astray in her line of work. First movie I ever saw.

One of the most amazing performing artists I ever knew. He was in a film with Humphrey Bogart the year before I was born.

I only met him when he was nearly 80, but we got to be friends, and used to sing Russian folk songs together.

The 1963 film with the skeleton fight animated by Ray Harryhausen. A scene from it was part of the trailer and you bet I remember that! Mainly because it scared me to death!
