9. Sneaking in a Happy Thanksgiving wish while it is still Thursday...

…in your time zone.

We had a delightful small gathering at the home of our younger son’s girlfriend’s parents. Just 8 of us - my husband and me, son and GF, her parents, and her brother and his wife. Everyone vaccinated.

After dinner, our son caught a moment with the GF’s dad to let the dad know he wants to marry his daughter and hoped this would meet with the dad’s approval. He got an enthusiastic yes. She’s a charming young lady that we like very much, so I am thrilled with this development. They’ve been a couple for 3 years. He is 29 and she’s 27. Met in college but didn’t start dating until she graduated.

They moved into an apartment together this past June, and shortly thereafter adopted a puppy, so I knew things were heading in the commitment direction.
