tonight, Mrs. A made split pea with ham soup from scratch and from-scratch cornbread baked in a cast iron skillet.
It was----wonderful!

(3,238 posts)4. That cornbread in a cast iron skillet
made my mouth water. Cornbread doesnt last long in this house. And split pea with ham doesnt stand a chance either lol. I know you enjoyed it.

Couldn't stand the stuff.

(63,221 posts)6. I have mixed feelings about split pea soup.
I like the taste of it, but I do not find it aesthetically pleasing (do not like the color or the appearance of it) and I don't like it thick. I prefer it "soupy" as opposed to heavy and "gloppy".
