When it gets seriously low I squirt a shitload of honey in my mouth. It raises my sugar levels fast.
Really dangerously low I get some sugary juice like orange juice and stir sugar into it and chug it.
I love honey on the peanut butter grahm crackers but nowadays I use just the peanut butter.

(12,065 posts)and told me my blood sugar was 42. Six or eight small packages of graham crackers, and at least that many orange juice cups, and it staggered up to the mid 80s. That was a fun night. Not as fun as the week before when it hit 440 (with other interesting complications) but interesting, nonetheless.

I feel better when my bsl is in those ranges.
I eat a keto diet and take metformin and glimperide.

(7,638 posts)Cinnamon toast and French Toast. Whole wheat breads adds an incompatible flavor I think! Guess that's why I never make those any more - all my bread is whole grain now!

Spaghetti Os were the first thing I thought of. No hotdogs or sawdust meatballs or any of those fancy schmancy varieties. Just good ol plain Spaghetti Os.

I still eat my eggs 'soppy', runny yolks, but I no longer get the luxury of two piece of bread to hold them.
And I don't have my mother to make them for me, with extra love.
I just have to love myself, and that means soppy eggs, no bread.

So much flavor!
I think having learned to like the flavor as a treat when I was young, got me past the urpy thing a lot of people go through. I do like the whites to be well cooked, though.

(10,129 posts)All melted and so yummy tried it again recently. Yuck. Like many foods, Cheez Whiz has changed and not for the better. Doesnt melt, bland and tasteless. Kraft probably reduced the sodium to make it healthier. Blech.

(56,866 posts)well, now just layer cinnamon and sugar. but I do still have the little jar my Grandma kept her cinnamon sugar in.
Mother and Grandma both did theirs in the oven and it does give a nice texture, but the toaster is so much faster.

(132,767 posts)1 Tbsp cocoa and 1 Tbsp butter mixed with a whisk and cooked in a pot till it is cooked and forms a paste. Add 2 cups 2%milk and sugar to taste (or sugar substitute these days) and heat up. Pour into a mug. Enjoy. My grandmother would of had this as a tot in the 1800s. Later would have made it for her kids (my mom and aunt) on the farm she ran in the 1930s, 40s. Back when everything was made from scratch. Then she made it for us kids in the 70s.

(63,221 posts)I don't know why, but I kind of liked mustard sandwiches. I have always liked mustard (all kinds except for honey mustard) and would just make them as a snack sometimes. Eventually I grew out of it as I got less hungry during the day.

(26,100 posts)I love it! Since I'm eating healthier, I cut way back on the butter and sugar and use more cinnamon which helps metabolize sugar. It's still a little slice of tasty sin, but not as sinful as before.
