Brownie for breakfast? Why not?

They looked so tempting to me this morning. Already made. No need to scramble eggs, mix up pancake or waffle batter and cook. No need to even fill a bowl with cereal and milk. Just grab a brownie and eat. Mmm.

Full of nutitrious ingredients, too. Eggs for protein and biotin. Mono and poly unsaturated oil. Walnuts for omega 3. Chocolate for BP. Add a dollop of Greek vanilla yogurt and it's a healthy breakfast, right?

1. Hey, they market Nutella for breakfast, so 3 ingredient (eggs, flour, nutella) brownies have to be

the breakfast of champions, right?

4. Well, it's how I get my egg nutrition.

Although I mentioned scrambled eggs in the OP, I can't actually eat them due to an egg white allergy. But I can tolerate eggs that are mixed into a batter.

So a brownie breakfast is perfectly justifiable IMO.

15. FYI there is a good vegan egg replacer if you add a small sprinkle of

black salt (kala namak) to Just Egg https://www.ju.st/. It's not cheap. But, it might be a good once in a while treat.

16. Does it taste like eggs?

I used to love omelettes before the allergy developed, but deviled eggs were my favorite.

I haven't had an omelette or deviled egg in 46 years.

When I make potato or macaroni salad, I boil some eggs, throw away the whites, and put only the yolks in the salad.

17. It does if you put in a small sprinkle of the black salt. That gives is the sulfur flavor

You can find the black salt online or in Indian grocery stores. The texture of the just egg is really good. I always put a little garlic and onion when I fry it up.

18. Is it made from soy? A lot of imitation

animal products are made with tofu. I cannot eat soy products. They interfere with my thyroid medication. Since soy oil and soy flour are so prevalent in so many foods, I can't avoid soy completely, but I keep it as low as possible.

6. Aren't you supposed to eat baked goods all December? It makes the year worthwhile.

This year has sucked in many ways and you are entitled to some compensation.

11. Most baked goods aren't healthy for us

Shouldn't they be called baked bads?

12. Sounds fine to me.

Who says you have to eat traditional "breakfast foods" at breakfast time?
