5. I used to work on a mountain top in El Paso

There were rattlers all over it. In the cooler months they would come out every day and sun themselves on the concrete. I wore 16” lineman boots just in case I got too close. They weren’t aggressive and would let you know they were there. We eventually got used to each other.

4. I've never seen a rattlesnake except in a zoo.

The only rattlesnakes in this state (MN) are timber rattlers, which live in the bluffs along the Mississippi, but they're shy and rarely seen. They are also the only venomous snakes in the area.

We do have wolves and bears, though.
