usually quite as obviously as the one in the OP. The wiggle before pouncing helps them keep balance as they leap and gauge the distance.

Stalking.
She would play with the plastic rings that seal milk caps. She would stalk them with the butt wiggle, pounce, sit on them, bat them around for a bit, and then walk off with them.
She was a great little cat.

He would sit there for a full minute and wind up so thoroughly youd think he was going to pounce on the moon.
His usual pounce distance was two inches.
