The "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer told fans on Thursday night that she was heading to hospital to receive help after sharing in a series of disturbing Twitter posts that she planned to take her own life.

I have to admit, after hearing the original Prince version of "Nothing Compares 2 U", I thought she did sing that song better.

i know a few peeps who survived a child's suicide, and they're the strongest people i know.
but they all had that thought, and quite a few made the attempt.

Of your own child's suicide stronger. I know a few who have and are indeed stronger but forever saddened by the lost. I know more that wrecked over it and because lose the will to live. It is a tragic event and I hope for peace for everyone.

She was already facing mental health challenges. Her son's suicide could put her over the edge. I wish her the best.
