The right way to eat a hot dog

5. IMO the most important thing is how the hot dog is cooked

Must be browned on the outside. Not boiled, steamed or nuked. Grilled or cooked on the roller device so it gets brown and a little crispy. At home the air fryer works great.

I haven't tried air frying them. How long do you cook a couple of them?

9. I'd start maybe 4 minutes

Then put it back for another minute until it gets as brown as you like, shaking the basket each time so it gets evenly browned. You can put the hot dogs in rolls the last 1 to 2 minutes and the rolls get toasted too.

14. My personal favorite way...

Split the dog(s) long ways. In a pan, melt gobs of butter and sauté some onions, when the onions are almost done, drop in the dogs. Split the bun and put in a slice of sharp cheddar. Drop in the dog and onions when they are done. A nice line of ketchup & mustard and top with sauerkraut. mmmm, good eatin
