(3,383 posts)I was telling my wife the other day while watching the Australian Open, a women's match, and then the Nadal/Mevedev final about the almost perfection that athletes today have reached, it has gotten to a point where the one who loses did not lose, the winner won by hitting better shots. If you look at the scores from Golf tournaments, the scores are -27, and so forth, the cut line is -4 when -4 would have been a winning score in the past. Soccer, ping-pong, etc...athletes have not only reached this closeness to perfection, but overall they are humble, good people who have reached their place in history because of hard work, dedication while still recognizing those who came before them, those who compete against them and those who represent the future.
Why is it that people in power cannot have the same attributes as the majority of athletes, why are they not honorable, honest, patriotic, and have all the good attributes that would demand from them to make a better World. Is it that only the crap seeks the kind of power that politics provides? Then we have to change politics to make sure we can filter the trash, that we can keep people like trump, Jordan, Greene, Senema, Manchin out of office. What demands and requirements must be put in place to assure that only those with the right merits can run for office? We do it everywhere else...no company would hire a trump, so why do we allow that kind of trash to serve in a position that has so much weight on so many people?
Unless accountability to trump and his gang is done, things will get worst, but if the rule of law punishes all those who acted unpatriotic? that will make the bad apples think twice before getting into office. That would be a first step.
